The human body has some getting used to. We all have quirks and gimmicks to get people to love us. But do we ever think about just loving ourselves? Continue reading
This photo represents us. Women. Us females have had the tough life. Starting back in the 1800s and still to this day of 2014. We’ve been through all. Neglect, discrimination, frustration, and the devotion to make a change. We’ve witnessed this in all countries around the globe. There were restrictions against us just because men thought we were not suited for the hard work. Since then, society has changed, but yet conflicts on restrictions still exist today. Whether it be men disowning women or under paid women with jobs. Luckily, positive aspects popped up allowing us to voice an opinion. We can vote, join the forces, work, and even go to school. It didn’t always start that way though. We as women had to team up along the way. During the 1930s, what Mary Poppins showed me was that women got together to support women suffrage. Voting was a big deal, we had to fight our way to voice our opinions. And you thought I was only watching for the British babysitter who flew in holding an umbrella. Women have always been labeled. With labels, men always expected us to always be at their assistance. Women were just the cleaners, the cooks, the wives, the moms. No one took us seriously to even think we would have our own thoughts and feelings. For example, in China around the 1930s, wealthy men would buy young mistresses and use them for pleasure and kept them as slaves for as long as they needed them. Reality has come to realize that women do have a right to be heard. Women have even stretched high enough to run to govern this country. All I’m trying to say is don’t underestimate women just like you wouldn’t judge a book by its cover.
