Missing Seattle

I took a trip to Seattle, Washington in the autumn of 2013. After coming off the plane with my ears plugged and my head spinning, I made my way out of the airport and into the cold. It was freezing. Well okay it wasn’t freezing but for me it was cold. I just wasn’t used to the cold wind hurling at my face from every direction and sudden rain that trickled then hailed at sudden seconds. It wasn’t even my first time visiting, but this time I didn’t bring the sunny Southern California weather with me.

As the weekend came to an end, I lastly made my way with my brother down to the famous Pike’s Place Market. Passing by the first ever Starbucks and into the corner of the start of the market we crossed the street. It was surprisingly a nice day out, yet still cold. We stopped to watch these men shouting at each other while tossing the giant fish, then continued to try out the samples at the honey and jam booths along the long corridor. Also the veggies smelled brilliant as the crafts had me in “awe”. We ended up at a corner coffee shop. I’m not a big coffee drinker, but we sat in the small table window looking out into the cold.

It was weird to feel like I was just a stranger to this town passing by, while I probably was walking next to natives that know this town like the back of their hand.

My brother got a small cup of coffee and this sparkling water, which was really common to get according to the shop, served on a wooden paddle. He took two sips of the coffee and tried it with the sparkling water and gave me the look of “this is gross” so secretly he tossed it out the window we were sitting at, into the bushes below. I had to hold in my laughter as he handed back the paddle with the empty cups to the lady. We exited and decided to take a ponder at the wall*.

* as in the great GUM WALL.

It was terrifying to look at, but we took pictures of sticking our tongues next to it to look like we were licking it, so it wasn’t that gross. And yes, I so happen to be chewing gum. I stuck a big, blue, wet blob onto the masterpiece. I felt like I gave a little California love and hope to find it when I go back soon.

worth a shot

I didn’t really know how I was going to approach high school in a way of being myself, so I kind of just went with the “winging it” method. Continue reading

Women’s Day

The clarity in it all. The way we have survived emotionally and physically is remarkable. I would like to thank everyone who believes in equality amongst anyone no matter race, color, religion, or physical characteristics. I’m seriously over joyed that there is now a day commemorating women. Trust me without us in the world, I’m not quite sure how men would handle living on their own. They are dependent on us, it’s been proven.

Galentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day. The one day a year that comes around to spread cheer and joy of love. Couples smother each other with chocolate, candy, flowers, cards, gifts, or just hugs and kisses. The whole day you see people dressed in red, pink, purple, and white. There is the lovey-dovey couples and the mysterious hand holders. There is also the one’s that buys the flowers and chocolate for themselves. They act as if it was surprise when their gifts arrive to be able to gloat to others. Lastly, there are the single pringles. Now these people are the one’s you should be most scared of… Stay away. They spend their day spreading the joy of the single life. Okay so they are not that scary, but everyone should just let them be.

Now the day after valentine’s day. This day shall be one to cherish. It’s a 50% off candy sale day. There is no time for regrets. This is the real Galentine’s Day experience. You get to fill up on all the leftover chocolate, kit-kats, lollipops, and flowers you can ever imagine. Also, this day is acceptable to leave your loved ones (husbands/boyfriends mainly) and to treat your self by hanging with your girl pals as a “girls day”. Go see a movie, or go shopping, or spend your time scrolling through tumblr while occasionally showing them funny cat gifs. You decide.

Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day!

The 80s Movies YOU Need To Watch

Recently I’ve been watching some classic teen 80s movies. To one, compare what movies had been like compared to now, and two, just to be in the know of these great classics. I have thought about doing a review on a couple of movies for quite some time now, but wasn’t sure if it really suited my blog. Today I thought, why not give it a shot?
